PM/2 for DOS Technical Support FAQ pages
A: This can
happen when printing on the Hewlett-Packard Laserjet family of printers if the
wrong driver or the wrong symbol set has been selected. Here are the steps to resolving the problem: (1)
Make
certain that you have selected printer #1, the HP Laserjet/Deskjet series,
within the Utilities/Setup/Printer Type menu option. (2) If your Laserjet has a physical menu control on its front panel, then go through the menus until you come to the Symbol Set option, and change the setting from the default Roman-9 to the required PC-8 setting. (3)
If your
Laserjet has no physical menu control, then the settings are established via
Windows. In Windows, click Start,
Settings, Printers, and then click the icon corresponding to your
Laserjet. Go through the software options
in the Laserjet window until you find the Symbol Set options, and select PC-8
as per step (2) above. |
